The Area
Situated within the National Park, Stonecrop is well placed for visiting Northumbria’s varied attractions and spectacular scenery. The Alnwick Garden and Alnwick Castle are within easy reach, as is our fabulous coastline, with its many castles and secluded sandy beaches. You could visit historic towns such as Alnwick, Morpeth or Berwick, and the busy city of Newcastle is only an hour away.
Further afield you have Hadrian’s Wall
and Kielder Water.
However, for those not wanting
to venture too far, a visit to the attractive market
town of Rothbury offers excellent facilities and a
chance to visit Cragside, the former home of Lord
Armstrong, industrialist and entrepeneur, which is
now owned by the National Trust.
